SANITATION AND HYGIENE

This course utilizes a variety of teaching and learning techniques. These include seminars, journal clubs, collaborative learning, group discussions, case studies, lecture-discussions, assignments, hands-on training on computers, visits to organizations of public health interest, fieldwork and practicum and field projects. It is an interdisciplinary course both in its content and teaching.

COURSE CONTENT

Proper hygiene is a skill developed over time through dedication. This course aims to:

  1. Outline personal hygiene principles and the importance of safety protocols
  2. Educate on foodborne illness prevention and workplace safety requirements
  3. Familiarize participants with local food service laws.
  4. Students will learn fundamental microbiology, safety practices, personal hygiene, and food handling techniques, while also reviewing local regulations. Additionally, participants can earn international certification in this field.
